The castle of Grandson was first built in the 11th century near lake Neuchatel. The coat of arms of the House of Grandson is displayed in many parts of the castle. The Lord of Grandson also took part to the crusade to the Holy Land.

Over the centuries the castle has been the property of many owners such as the House of Savoy and towards the end of the 15th century it was taken by the Swiss Confederation.

Today the castle is one of the best preserved medieval fortress of Switzerland. Visitors can admire many rooms with antique furniture and a lavish display of armors and weapons from the 12th to the 19th centuries.

グランソン城はヌーシャテル湖の近くに建てられた11 世紀のお城で、グランソン家の紋章を様々なところで目にすることが出来ます。当時の当主は十字軍に参加してエルサレムまで遠征しました。

何世紀にもわたってグランソン城は困難を乗り越え、多くの城主の所有を経て、１５世紀の終わりにスイス共和国に支配されるようになりました。

現在スイスでグランソン城は中世の要塞としての最高の保存状態の城です。
多くの部屋には、たくさんのエレガントなアンティーク家具があります。
その他にも、１２世紀から１９世紀にかけての数多くの武器と鎧兜が展示されています。
